Oberbozen & Ritten
The special location of our two houses has many advantages to offer: In the immediate vicinity, less than 5 minutes on foot from the HOTEL POST, the cable car to Bolzano starts. In exactly 11 minutes it will take you to the centre of this shopping city with its charming Mediterranean charm. It is just as far, i.e. a 5-minute walk, to the station of our little local railway, which we have grown fond of. Twice an hour it takes you from Oberbozen to Klobenstein and back. However, and this cannot be stressed enough, the Hotel POST serves as a starting point for varied and unforgettable excursions and hikes. Without having to use your car, you start off in one of the most extensive hiking areas in South Tyrol.

The Rittner High Plateau
On the southern foothills of the Sarner Alps, high above the valley, lies the sunny terrace of the South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano, the Ritten. This sunny mountain offers holidays with 360 degrees; all around nature, culture, unique distant views and extraordinary attractions.

... and is more varied than almost anywhere else. It ranges from the sub-Mediterranean vegetation of Signat and Unterplatten to the lush meadows and fir forests of the low mountain range and the alpine flora of the alpine pasture region around Rittner
Hiking area number 1
From the beginning of April to mid-November, you can follow your wanderlust on over 700 km of hiking trails.
From mid-September onwards, the grapes begin to ripen every autumn and with them the Törggele season. One then wanders from farm to farm, where one then traditionally tastes the young must. In addition you nibble a little bacon and a few roasted chestnuts.
One of the absolute highlights of a holiday on the Ritten is a visit to the Ritten earth pyramids, special primeval witnesses of the last ice age. For over 15,000 years they have been growing in elegant form up to 18 metres high from the Ritten forest floor!
Mild climate...
Due to the mild climate, the gentle landscape and the low traffic situation (no through traffic, because the world is over here), the Ritten is an ideal holiday destination for families with children.
So that there is no danger of boredom creeping in, the Ritten offers a lot: Rides from various riding stables, a llama farm, an idyllic bathing lake, the bee museum, an excursion with the Horn Railway and last but not least a ride on the historic Rittner Bahnd'l, a narrow-gauge railway dating back to 1907, a real attraction for young and old.
Provincial capital Bolzano
The historical but also geographical proximity to Bolzano is another special feature of the Ritten. Since 1966 a cable car connects Oberbozen with Bozen. If the weather is bad, you can be in the provincial capital with all its museums and sights in 12 minutes; and not to forget, Bolzano is certainly one of the most tasteful shopping towns in the German-speaking area with a very special offer!
